Southern California can be kind of nasty in August. The kinda heat that makes even leaving to get into your car seem like a bad idea. Luckily my friends feel the same way. Instead of venturing outside we stayed in and enjoyed home made ‘brownies’, watched: one psychedelic inspired film and a band and nature documentary, played Chinese poker (13), and worked on a crossword puzzle. The movies were good, the poker seemed to be good for everyone but me and the crossword puzzle was maybe 15% completed even with the combined brain power of 5 college students. Nonetheless I’m am reminded on a daily basis how important friends can be.
